I’m making Gingerbread cookies and need an icing that goes with them. Nothing like cake icing but a icing that fits with gingerbread cookies.

Royal icing is the preferred one that everyone uses , but I have some others as well .
Royal Icing
4 c. 10x sugar
3 egg whites
Combine sugar and egg whites in a bowl . Beat on low speed . After 30 seconds , scrape down bowl . Gradually increase the speed to med. high . Beat until glossy and stiff peaks form . Separate and add food coloring for different colors .
Orange Cookie Frosting
1 1/2 c. 10x sugar
1/2 tsp. orange zest
2 – 3 tbsp. orange juice
In small bowl mix all ingredients together until smooth .
Coconut Glaze For Cookies
1 c. unsweetened coconut milk
8 c. 10x sugar
food coloring if desired
Whisk coconut milk and sugar together until is thick like honey . Tint with food coloring .

Buttercream Icing
Ingredients
* 1/2 cup shortening
* 1/2 cup butter, softened
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 4 cups confectioners’ sugar
* 2 tablespoons milk
Directions
1. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, shortening, and vanilla. Blend in
the sugar, one cup at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the
milk, and continue mixing until light and fluffy. Keep icing covered until ready
to decorate.
